This website (theolive.in) is operated by The Olive Hotels & Resorts, Rancha Road, Tala, Bandhavgarh, Umaria, Madhya Pradesh 484664 ("we", "us"). This policy explains how we handle personal information under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
2. What we collect
- Booking enquiries — name, mobile number, check-in/check-out dates, number of guests and preferred cottage, when you use the availability form.
- WhatsApp, phone and email — whatever you choose to share with us in those conversations.
- During your stay — the guest details and government photo ID that hotels in India are legally required to record, and the details the forest department needs to issue safari permits in your name.
- Technical data — our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and reliability.
3. How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry, share rates and confirm bookings.
- To book safari permits, transfers and other services you ask for.
- To meet legal obligations (guest registers, police/C-form reporting for foreign nationals, tax records).
- To ask for feedback after your stay. We will not send you marketing messages without your consent.
4. Who we share it with
- Madhya Pradesh Forest Department — for safari permit bookings.
- Government authorities — where the law requires it.
- Service providers — email (Google Gmail), WhatsApp (Meta) and website hosting (Vercel), only as needed to deliver your messages and run the site.
We never sell or rent your personal information.
5. Third-party content on this site
Pages may load fonts from Google Fonts and an embedded Google Map, and links open Google Reviews, Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp. These services may receive your IP address and set their own cookies under their own privacy policies.
6. Cookies and local storage
We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. The site uses a service worker and browser cache only to load pages faster and to work offline; this stores site files, not personal information.
7. How long we keep it
Enquiry details are kept for as long as needed to handle your booking and for a reasonable time afterwards. Guest registers, ID records and invoices are kept for the period required by law.
8. Security
The website is served over HTTPS and enquiry emails go only to the resort's own mailbox. Access to guest records is limited to staff who need them.
9. Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or withdraw consent to being contacted, by writing to the email below. Records we must keep by law cannot be deleted before that period ends.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time; the date at the top shows the latest version.
